Privacy Policy
In short. There are no sign-ups and no accounts. Your marks, notes and achievements live only in your browser, and we can't see them.
The site uses Yandex Metrica for statistics. It sets a cookie and records how people use the pages. Everything works without it too; how to turn it off is explained below.
Who is responsible for the data
collectpin.com is run by a private individual, the owner of the CollectPin project. It is an unofficial fan project, not affiliated with Rockstar Games or Take-Two Interactive.
For any question about your data, write to tetra.carne@gmail.com.
What stays with you
- Progress, notes, achievements, settings are stored in your browser's memory (localStorage). They are never sent to our server.
- Progress code and link. When you copy the link with your progress, your marks are written into the link itself. Only the people you send it to will see them.
- How to erase it. Clear the site data for collectpin.com in your browser settings. This also removes your progress, so save your progress link first if you need it.
Yandex Metrica
Metrica collects: a cookie identifier, IP address, device and browser type, language, where you came from, which pages you opened and how long you stayed. Its Session Replay feature (Webvisor) records actions on the page: scrolling, taps, cursor movement.
Why: to see which pages people need and where the interface gets in the way, and to count events such as marking a point, earning an achievement or tapping the Telegram button. We see visitor statistics, not names or accounts.
Who processes it: YANDEX LLC, under the Yandex Metrica terms of use.
How to opt out: block cookies for collectpin.com in your browser settings or turn on a tracker blocker. The map, your marks and every page keep working in full.
Feedback form
The form on the map runs on Google Forms (Google LLC). We only receive what you type into it yourself. Every field is optional.
- If you leave a contact, it's used only to reply to you or to ping you when you asked us to. Contacts are never published.
- If you report a find and ask to be credited by a nickname, that nickname may appear next to the point on the map and on the set page.
- Google may store form responses on servers outside Russia.
Third-party content on the map
A point card may show a small YouTube video thumbnail. It loads from YouTube (Google) servers, so your browser sends them your IP address, the same as when any image loads from another site.
If you tap a video, it opens in the YouTube player right on the map. The player loads from youtube-nocookie.com only after you tap; while you watch, YouTube may store its own data in your browser under its own rules.
Links to YouTube, Telegram and Discord open those services, and their own rules apply there.
Server logs
Like any server, our hosting provider (Timeweb) keeps technical logs: IP address, time, page address, browser. They are needed to run and protect the site and are kept by the host under its own rules.
What we don't do
- We don't ask you to sign up and don't create accounts.
- We don't sell data or share it with anyone other than the services listed on this page.
- We don't message you unless you left a contact and asked us to.
Your rights
You can ask what data we hold about you, have it corrected or deleted, or withdraw your consent. Write to tetra.carne@gmail.com and we'll reply within 10 business days. Form responses are deleted on first request.
